Problem

Embroidery only reads up close: how the beads line up, how a sequin catches the light, how a stone sits on the fabric. None of that craft was visible online. The first version of the site leaned on AI-generated imagery, which showed the idea of embroidery rather than this workshop’s actual work, and it did not convince a buyer. On top of that the business could not be found in local searches for embroidery in Çankaya.

Solution

  • A design built on professional photography and 4K footage shot in the workshop; every generated image was removed
  • Workshop video in the hero — landscape for desktop, a separate vertical cut for mobile; muted, poster-backed and motion-sensitive
  • A gallery page split into seven categories with a full-screen viewer
  • Separate layouts for desktop and mobile — mobile is not a shrunken desktop
  • Local SEO for Çankaya: ProfessionalService schema, location data, sitemap and robots
  • One-tap calling, WhatsApp and a contact form delivered straight to email

For embroidery, appliqué and textile ateliers a website is less a catalogue than a shop window: a buyer will not decide without seeing the work. Our priority on this kind of project is that the visual material is real and shot close up. Neither stock photography nor generated imagery conveys craftsmanship — they only convey the subject.

FAQ

What matters most on an embroidery workshop website? +

The work itself. Beadwork, sequins and stone embroidery only read in real close-up photography. For Lena Nakış the site was built on a shoot done inside the workshop; no stock or generated imagery was used.

Does video slow the page down? +

Not when it is prepared properly. The video is muted, backed by a poster image and compressed; mobile gets a separate, smaller vertical cut. On devices set to reduced motion the video never plays and the poster stays in place.

Can we update the gallery ourselves? +

On this site the gallery is updated by hand — you send us photos of new work. If you expect to update often, we can build a gallery managed from an admin panel instead.

Lena Nakış is an atelier in Çankaya, Ankara doing commercial embroidery, stone embroidery, beadwork, cording, sequin work, stone appliqué and CNC laser cutting. Because that craft only reads up close, the entire site was built on real photography and video shot inside the workshop.

Twenty-nine frames were selected out of the hundred and eighteen that came back from the shoot, each scaled to its place on the page and converted to WebP. Two separate hero cuts were pulled from the same 4K footage: landscape for desktop, vertical for mobile. The gallery page is split into seven categories and works with a full-screen viewer.

Locally the site was structured around Çankaya, telling search engines plainly where the workshop is and what it does through location data, ProfessionalService schema and a sitemap. On the contact side the form is delivered straight to email, while phone and WhatsApp open with a single tap.
